Sportspersons ransacked the Meerut stadium here today for pressing their demand of renovating it for them and not for political functions, sources said.
According to the sources, sportspersons got agitated when they saw that some construction work was going inside the stadium as the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav is scheduled to come here on September 27 to distribute Kanya Vidyadhan cheques.
The infuriated youths dismantled the semi-constructed walls inside the stadium. The construction work was going for September 27 functions.
