Bus Stations
Meerut city is situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh and is well connected to the rest of the country. The state transport corporation called Uttar Pradesh State Tourist Development Corporation (UPSTDC) maintains deluxe and local coaches that run from Meerut to Delhi, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Haridwar, etc. Besides UPSTDC many private tour operators provide the commutation facilities. The central bus stand of the city called Meerut Bus Station is quite popular in the region. The bus stand is the primary means of entry and exit from the city via roadways. Many Express and Deluxe buses regularly check-in at the station. The bus stand also serves as the reference point in the vicinity.
The local bus stand near Begam Pul is a small stand providing access to nearby townships.
Rrailway and bus services provides the transportation from and into the city. Amongst these institutions the roadways enjoys the priorities not only in Meerut but for the rest of India. The city is well linked by regular bus services to other places in the state and beyond. National Highways 58 that pass through Meerut are major contributors of local transportation.
